IndianaView Objectives

IndianaView Objectives are:

Promote the use of remote sensing image data in the K-16 education. This will include making available appropriate data sets along with information that can be used for tutorials and training.
Facilitate the use of remote sensing data to monitor state wide issues such as crop development, lake water quality and urban development.
Maintain an online portal to the remote sensing image data holdings that the partner institutions have available as permitted by data purchase agreements. This is a distributed data base that has a web-based interface that allows users to access, preview and download the data and/or associated metadata.

Purchasing additional remote sensing image data to be made available through IndianaView.

Ultimately, it is envisioned that the Purdue and IU regional campuses, and all universities in Indiana, four year colleges, community colleges, libraries, museums, as well as many secondary, middle and primary educational institutions will be participants in the IndianaView consortium, by virtue of their affiliation with the Indiana Higher Education Technology System (IHETS), the Indiana Geographic Information Council (IGIC) and/or the Indiana Space Grant Consortium.
